3 Tips To Cure Hang-over

Let’s be real:
A hangover is the most predictable consequence of drinking, yet somehow, it’s also the most ignored.

Why?
Because partying is fun, and no one likes thinking about the aftermath when the drinks are flowing.

But if you’re someone who tends to drink till you drop, or just have low alcohol tolerance, this blog might just save your tomorrow morning.

So, raise your glass (water, this time)

Here’s my go-to 3-step hangover recovery plan.

1. Hydrate with the Right Liquids ๐Ÿ’ง

Alcohol is a diuretic, which means it makes you pee more than usual. The more you urinate, the more fluids and electrolytes you lose, which is why dehydration is the main culprit behind the next-day headache, dizziness, and overall feeling of being unwell.

What to drink:

  • Water – Basic, essential, and your #1 hangover ally.

  • Sports drinks – Packed with electrolytes like sodium and potassium to restore balance.

  • ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts) – If you’re feeling really drained, these are next-level helpful.

What to avoid (or limit):

  • Coffee & tea – They might perk you up temporarily, but they’re also diuretics.

  • Orange juice – The acidity can irritate your already-sensitive stomach.

  • Fun fact: Sprite may help your body break down acetaldehyde, the chemical responsible for many hangover symptoms.

2. Fuel Your Body ๐Ÿณ

Even if your appetite is gone, your body needs fuel to recover. When you drink, your body loses key nutrients and energy, especially if you skipped a proper meal the night before.

What to eat:

  • Bananas – High in potassium, help rehydrate your cells.

  • Eggs – Full of amino acids that help break down alcohol byproducts.

  • Crackers – Easy on the stomach and help stabilize blood sugar.

  • Meat – A good source of protein to restore lost amino acids.

Not in the mood for a full meal? Start small. A few bites are better than nothing.

3. Sleep It Off ๐Ÿ˜ด

Don’t underestimate the power of sleep. Your body needs time to recover, reset, and repair. That groggy, heavy feeling? It’s your brain and liver still processing last night’s choices.

My personal tip:

Sleep on your left side.
It helps reduce heartburn and improves digestion. Trust me, I’ve done the research (on myself).

That’s All, Folks ๐ŸŽ‰

And there you have it.

The 3-step hangover recovery plan you can actually use.

No magic pills, no weird hacks, just hydration, fuel, and rest.

You might be wondering, “What about over-the-counter meds?” Honestly, I’m leaving those out on purpose. Not all of them are helpful, and some may even make things worse without proper guidance.

So stick to these steps, and if you’re still feeling rough, it’s probably time to check in with a healthcare pro.

That’s a Wrap!
